Shipping containers

The TOUAX Group entered this business in the early '80s with major investments in shipping containers which were placed under the management of two external companies (principally TRANS0CEAN LINES). In 1987, TOUAX acquired GOLD CONTAINER CORP. a small U.S. company specialized in the leasing of shipping containers based in San Francisco.

Since this date, the performance of this sector has been driven primarily by internal growth with a fleet which increased its capacity from 25,000 TEUs in 1996 up to 165,000 TEUs in 2000 with a goal to reach 300,000 TEU within 3 years. This equipment is leased to the major international shipping companies.

In 1998, TOUAX acquired its sole competitor in France
(SECAM of the BRAMBLES Group) .

Today, TOUAX is the 10th largest company world-wide for the leasing of shipping containers with a network of 18 agencies and more than 100 depots located in the main international ports (Singapore - Hong Kong -New York - Rotterdam, etc.).
